  • Some piercings may be healed within this time frame.

  • Jewelry shopping is tempting, but always consult with your piercer first.

  • It is highly recommended that you have your piercer change out your jewelry for you, especially if you're switching from a stud to a hoop or vice versa.

  • Continue occasionally cleaning with a saline solution to maintain hygiene.

NO TOUCHING OR TWISTING

It's best to leave it alone to avoid tearing the skin around the site or introducing new bacteria.

NO SWIMMING OR BATHING

Chlorine, lake water, saltwater, bathwater, etc - all a risk on any open wound.

(This doesn't mean you can't shower for two weeks. Yes, that is a question we get.)

DO NOT OVERCLEAN

Just like any healing stage for any body modification, overdoing is just as bad as underdoing. Overcleaning and dry out the site and cause irritation.

DO NOT SLEEP ON IT

This can pull at or compress your piercing.

If you experience excess swelling, redness, pain, discharge, or a high fever; and/or your tattoo starts to get hot to the touch, contact your healthcare provider. These could be signs of an infection.
